Tibbi Sahib
One of the most prosperous regions of India, the region of Punjab is endowed with some of the best treat to a tourist as well as locals alike; the region is known for its mouthwatering delicacies, its vastness in terms of agriculture and its record collection of Gurudwaras.
Almost all the districts or maybe every single town in the state of Punjab have their own Gurudwaras, most of which are unique in design and origin. Some of them have also been given global recognition like the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
Talking of a region called Muktsar in the province of Punjab, we must take into consideration the name of Tibbi Sahib. Considered to be one of the most important and sacred places of worship for the Sikh people, this Gurudwara has attracted people for a long time and in recent times have also got international reputation.
History
This holy shrine is said to be built on that very spot as from here Guru Gobind Singh showered arrows onto the enemies during the battle. The origin of this Gurudwara is traced back to the Eighteenth century. Built as a traditional structure and quite humble in the beginning, it was reconstructed and revamped during the 1840s by Sodhi Man Singh of Mansinghvala.
Architecture & Covered Area
The structure that is seen today has been built after the year 1950 and was done under the guidance of Baba Baghel Singh, a disciple of Sant Gurumukh Singh. The present design is composed of a square hall that houses a sanctum in the center. Above this sanctum is a square pavilion having a lotus dome. There are also kiosks in the corners that are carved out of marble. The surface of the dome including the walls of the monument is lined with marble and the same is also true for the floor area in and around the hall.
Location and Surroundings
The Tibbi Sahib is located in the outskirts of Muktsar city. It is on the Guru Harsahai-Muktsar by-pass road and 3 kilometers away from Gurudwara Tuti Gandi Sahib. This Gurudwara is surrounded by many other important shrines that are said to form a part of the Sri Muktsar Sahib; for instance Tambu Sahib and Rakab Ganj Sahib are two of the neighboring shrines.
Celebrations
The chief events of celebration in this region are Magh Mela, which pays homage to the 40 Muktas for their sacrifices. Besides the festivals, the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Gobind Singh as well as the Shahidi Purab of Guru Arjun Dev is major celebrations in this shrine which bring in millions of folks each year.

Best Time to Visit
It is well known that Punjab is visited by tourists throughout the year and one would find tourists in all the parts of the state year round. But if asked for the best time to travel, one must consider the winter months from November to March to plan a visit to this holy place.
Travelling to Muktsar
By Air
Muktsar doesn't have an airport and nearest one being in Amritsar. One can take a flight to Amritsar from any major destination in India and then from Amritsar one can come to Muktsar via road or rails.
By Train
Regular train services connect Muktsar with the major cities of Bhatinda, Amritsar as well as Kotkapura. The railway station is around 1.5 kilometers away from the city center.
By Road
From Bhatinda, Muktsar is around 45 kilometers away, whereas it is about 30 kilometers away from Kotkapura and it takes a couple of hours to cover the 175 kilometers from Amritsar. Hiring a cab is easy and many tend to do so. But one also has the option of taking the state transport buses to get to Muktsar.
