Gurdwara Shri Singh Sabba Sahib
Gurudwara Shri Singh Sabba Sahib is situated in Ropar, which is one of the important cities in Punjab and is well connected by rail as well as by road.
History
Situated adjacent to the Patiala Road at Rajpura, the history behind this moderately famous Gurudwara is not much known although some legends states that some of the important Gurus have passed through the region.
The Singh Sabba Sahib is one of the most visited Gurudwaras in Ropar and people come from all walks of life and across the length and breadth of India to this holy shrine. Ropar is also known for some of the more famous Gurudwaras that have been here for decades.
Architecture & Covered Area
The first look at the Shri Singh Sabba Sahib gives the complete feeling of wonder about the magnificence of the structure. With the main hall built in a big area, there is a smaller hall on the first floor of the Gurudwara. The structure is also known for its iconic figures of the domes and the tower that stands at the border of the Gurudwara. Vastly built and the beautifully decorated domes mark the best features of the Gurudwara.
White marble has been used in abundance and is seen not only in the walls and flooring of the shrine, but the domes as well are vastly decorated with carving on white marble. Floral features have been carved out of the marble and are later highlighted with blue shades to make them stand out.
Location and Surroundings
The Shri Singh Sabba Sahib Gurudwara is located in the district of Ropar. Just off the Patiala Road it is situated opposite to the secretariat in Rajpura. The region is known for some of the famous shrines of the Sikh community. A few of the notable ones include the Gurudwara Shri Sadabarat Sahib and the Gurudwara Shri Bhatha Sahib.
The shrines in the region are visited by people from across India and abroad, festive season sees the arrival of millions of devotees who come to seek blessings of the almighty.
Celebrations
Some of the major events that are celebrated in the shrines of Ropar are the Magh Mela to commemorate the sacrifices of the 40 religious leaders. Besides these, the birthdays of several religious leaders are also celebrated in the shrines of the region.

Best Time to Visit
Ropar is in central Punjab; being an arid region of the country the best time to visit this region is during the winter months of November to March. A lot of tourists flock in during this time and as such most of the necessary services are seen at an arm’s length thereby making the tour smooth. Besides, the festive season is during this time and people tend to celebrate different events during this season.

By Air
The nearest airport to Ropar is the Chandigarh airport and one can take flights from almost all major cities to Chandigarh. From Chandigarh airport one can take a cab to Ropar which is about 2 hours journey.
By Train
Rupnagar is the name of station that serves the district of Ropar. Daily services run from Delhi. It takes around 6 hour's journey from Delhi. One can also take a train to Chandigarh Main Station and then take a cab to the Rupnagar city.
By Road
Situated at 42 kilometers from Chandigarh, it is connected through National Highway 21. From Delhi, Rupnagar is about 300 kilometers and a journey of 6-7 hours by car. Although people come in through all the routes, but mostly people tend to take the cab from the Chandigarh airport or railway station into the city limits of Rupnagar.
