Gurudwara Nanaksar Hakimpur
Gurudwara Nanaksar is situated in Hakimpur, in Banga district, Nawanshahr. This is one of the historical Gurudwaras in the state of Punjab, India. Gurudwara Nanaksar is very famous as it has the ancient trees of Neem and Peepal.
This is a holy worship place where thousands of Sikh devotees come to worship. They take part in the Kirtans and also help in other ritual activities of the Gurudwara.
History
Gurudwara Nanaksar has a great history. It is one of the ancient Gurudwaras situated in Hakimpur, Punjab. As per the local history, there is a belief that Shri Guru Hari Raj Ji had spent some time here to rest during his journey. Guru Hari Raj Ji was coming from Kartarpur and going towards Kiratpur. So when feeling tiresome, he decided to take rest at this place.
At that place, there were two trees of Neem and Peepal. Guru Hari Raj Ji used to tie his horses to these trees. Even today, these trees are present in the Gurudwara Nanaksar. Also, there is another legend that Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited this place. He also took rest for three days.
Maharaja Ranji Singh had constructed this Gurudwara Nanaksar. There was a tomb of Baba Banda Bahadur's wife. It was removed from this place due to the new construction of the Gurudwara.

Gurudwara Nanaksar has good space and surroundings. There is a holy pond in the Gurudwara. It is situated on the western part of the Gurudwara. Also, the two trees of Neem and Peepal attract the visitors.

As the Gurudwara has the anecdote of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji, many devotees visit this pious place throughout the year. However, the best time to visit this sacred worship place Gurudwara Nanaksar is in the months of December and February.

By Rail
As Hakimpur is a small town, it can be reached via Nawanshahr Junction. Nawanshahr is about 21 kilometers away from Hakimpur. Nawanshahr is well connected with the other major destinations of the state. From Nawanshahr, local transport facility is available to reach to Gurudwara Nanaksar, Hakimpur.
By Road
Gurudwara Nanaksar can be reached by road. It has less number of buses and other private vehicles. However, Nawanshahr is the best nearest bus stop and Nawanshahr is approachable from any of the cities of Punjab.
By Air
The nearest airport is Ludhiana from Hakimpur. It has fewer frequencies of flights. So, the most preferable Airport is Chandigarh Airport. It is 108 kilometers from the town. From Chandigarh, one can avail a bus or rail facility to reach to Gurudwara Nanaksar via Nawanshahr.
