Gurdwara Guru Dhab Matta
Located in the village of Ki Dhab Matta in the district of Faridkot is a Gurudwara that is closely linked with the tenth guru in Sikh religion. Located on the Kotkaputra-Jaitu Road, this Gurudwara can be easily accessed by devotees and visitors alike. It is hard to miss this Gurudwara while walking down the road because of its beautiful big dome and white building structure that resembles a mosque structure. Before this, the Gurudwara is known as Doda Tal.
History
The date when the Gurudwara was built is not known as there is no real research that had been conducted regarding this. According to some story, the Gurudwara was once visited by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji who is the tenth guru of Sikh. It was told that he visited the Gurudwara with his Sikh companion who was the member of congregation or also known as sangat in Sikhism.
Architecture and Covered Area
The building of this Gurudwara is very beautiful with its white building complete with dome on top. The main building is surrounded with an arched gate and it is hard not to notice this Gurudwara across the street. The main building is nicely built facing a pond that is known as the eight cornered Sarovar. There is a belief with this pond that whoever takes a bath in this sacred pond will surely be cured from his illness.
Around the Gurudwara, besides its Sarovar there is also a tree where Guru Sahib used to take rest and used to talk with a shaheed or also known as martyr. The shaheed's sin was cleansed and he was also taken out of the cycle of life and death.
Location and Its Surrounding
Gurudwara Guru Ki Dhab Matta is located on the Kotkapura-Jaitu Road in the district of Faridkot in Kot Kapura Tehsil. The Gurudwara is only 12 Km away from Kotkapura and can be easily accessed since its location is not too rural.
There is even a law college named Baba Farid Law College located on the Kot Kapura Road which is on the same road as the Gurudwara.
Celebrations
The Gurudwara celebrates all the main festivals according to Sikh religions. Among the top festival celebrated are the Gurpurab and Vaisakhi. Gurpurab is the day when they celebrated the anniversaries of their gurus while Vaisakhi is the birthday of the Sikhism order known as Khalsa order.

Best Time to Visit
The Gurudwara can be visited all year long by devotees and visitors alike. However the best time to visit is during summers and visitors should avoid going there during the month of January as the winter season in Faridkot district can be very cool. July to September is the monsoon season and visitors can be expecting heavy rain during these months.
To learn more about Sikh religion, it is advisable to visit the Gurudwara during its festival celebration such as the Vaisakhi day. It is normally held on 14th March annually.

By Air
There is no airport located in the district of Faridkot and the nearest airport is the Amritsar Raja Sansi International Airport which is 125 Km from Faridkot. The airport handles both domestic and international flight making it easier for visitors to travel directly from abroad to Faridkot. From here, a taxi ride to Faridkot will be around 7 rupees per kilometer.
By Train
Faridkot railway lies on the Firozpur-Bathinda-Delhi Railway line making it easier to get here from this major city. However, Faridkot doesnt have its own big railway station and the nearest big station is located in Amritsar.
To get to the Gurudwara, the nearest railway station is the Sandhwan Railway Station.
By Road
The PEPSU Road Transport Corporation is in charge of providing bus service to travel to Faridkot. There are lots of regular busses to get here from Firozpur, Bathinda, and Amritsar.
To travel by car, the district of Faridkot can be reach easily as there are lots of proper road constructed for that purpose. The district is about 65 Km away from Bathinda and 32 Km away from Firozpur.
