Gurudwara Guru Ka Mahal

Gurudwara Guru Ke Mahal is considered to be the residential house of Shri Guru Ramdas. He was the one who founded the present city of Amritsar. It was in this famous Gurudwara that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur was born. It is said that Sri Guru Hargobind Singh also lived here for some time.

History

It was in 1573 that this Gurudwara was a humble hut which was built by Guru Ram Das. Later, Guru Arjan Dev and his son Guru Hargobind modified it. It is here that the birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur is celebrated. Besides the daily services, a special divan and a Guru ka Langar is also held on every Sunday following the first of a Bikrami month.

By Air

By Rail

The railway station of Amritsar Railway is well linked with all of the other rail heads in the state as well as many other important cities in India.

By Road

To reach Amritsar, the roadways run many public and private buses with the help of which you can get in and get out from Amritsar. The Grand Trunk Road is very well connected to Amritsar.

Once you are in Amritsar, you can take the local means of transportation to get to the Gurudwara.
