History

It is said that Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Tenth Sikh Guru, began his journey from Alamgir and arrived at Kotkapura. As the Mughal armed force was following him, Guru Ji requested Chaudhri Kapura to hand him the Fort in order to fight the Mughals. However, Chaudhri Kapura refused to extend help to Guru Ji in his combat against the Mughals. Thus, Guru Ji arrived at the town of Jaito through the Village Dhilwan Kalan. Guru Ji and his devotees reached a Tibbi (a minor slope top), which was situated at some distance from the town. His tent was pitched up at this spot and he directed the Sikhs to practice shooting arrows. Later in the evening, Guru Ji discussed Rehras Sahib (Holy Hymns) and organized a Preaching Diwan. No water was accessible on this Tibbi. Bhai Pratap Singh, Bhai Sher Singh, as well as Bhai Sant Singh were asked by Bhai Ram Singh to dig a little well of water.
