Shahidan Da Gurudwara Temple Of The Martyrs

Shahidan' da Gurudwara is located in Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, India. The word 'Shahidan' is also spelled as 'Shaheedan'. The Gurudwara is also known as the Temple of the Martyrs. Shahidan' da Gurudwara is a holy and pure place of Sikh worshippers.

History

Shahidan' da Gurudwara is very famous Sikh temple in the world. It is known as the Temple of Martyrs. The Sikh devotees built this Gurudwara to pay homage to the Sikh martyrs. It was the time when Guru Govind Singh Ji had to fight with the Mughal Empire and the other forty Sikhs joined him in the battle against the Mughal Empire in 1705.

During the battle most of the Sikhs died there in the battlefield. And they became martyrs as they fought to save their Guru. So, the followers of Guru Govind Singh Ji decided to build a beautiful place of worship to remember their sacrifice and courage for the good.

Unfortunately, the city has no airport. Amritsar is the nearest Airport from Muktsar city. It is about 175 kilometers. This is an international Airport. It is known as Raja Sansi International Airport. Both the domestic and International flights are available on regular basis. To reach to Muktsar from Amritsar, there are many options available. Now, one can choose either Rail or Road to come to Shahidan' da Gurudwara.

The City of Muktsar has a good Railway Station. It is just 1.5 kilometers far away from the center of the city. It has good frequency of trains available on every day.
