Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib Urapar
Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib is situated in Urapar, in the district of Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab. The Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib is famous in the town. This Gurudwara was also built to honor the martyrs who had sacrificed their life. The town is also known as 'Aur-Urapar' and 'Chak-Urapar'.
This is one of the sacred places of worship for the Sikh followers. The devotees visit this holy Sikh temple and spend time in devotion and Kirtan.
History
Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib was built in the memory of the martyrs who fought the battle incessantly against the Mughals. It was 1711 when the battle was fought. Under the leadership of Banda Singh Bahadur the Khalsa army fought the battle with Shamas Khan and his army.
The soldiers of Banda Singh Bahadur who became the martyrs were reduced to ashes at Rahon with due respect. At the place of burial, the Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib was constructed in the reverence of the Sikh martyrs.

Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib is located on the road between Nawanshahr and Phillaur. It is about 17 kilometers far away from the town Urapar. Nearby the Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib, there is a Guru Nanak Charitable hospital. It was run by the trust committee of the Gurudwara.

Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib can be reached by road via Nawanshahr. As it is a small town, there is less number of buses available on regular basis. So Nawanshahr is the nearest destination to reach to Urapar. Nawanshahr is well connected with the famous cities of the state.

Urapar has no Railway Station. Ludhiana is the nearest Railway Station from Urapar. It is around 21 kilometers away for the town. From Ludhiana, there are local vehicles available to reach to Gurudwara Shahidganj Sahib, Urapar.
