History
When Guru Hargobindji visited this place on 19 Phagun 1675, which corresponds with the period 1631-32AD, he brought with him 7 canons and 1100 horsemen, for releasing 52 prisoners from Gwalior Fort who were held by Mughal ru1761lers. Among the 52 who were all Princes, one of them called Hast Lal wanted to marry a girl from that village, knowing which Guruji asked the Sangat if anyone would offer one’s daughter in marriage to this prince. Then one Ramdasia Sikh belonging to Lal Kalan offered his daughter to marry the Prince and Guruji solemnized the marriage. The Prince was also asked to leave for another village as he could not stay there as the son-in-law of that village as per custom.
While staying there, the 10th Guruji tied his horse in a Ber tree nearby, which is famous as Beri Sahib today. Next to this tree, the Sarovar is there and it is believed that those who take a dip in this Sarovar would get their leprosy cured, as when such a person afflicted with leprosy approached Guruji for relief, Guruji asked him to apply the horses froth in his body and taking bath in the sarovar, which acts cured his illness.
Likewise, when the Guruji was referring a Borh tree as Mango tree, the sangat argued with him on that, however, the Borg tree started having Mango leaves, which tree is also famous here now.
The tenth Guru Shri Gobind Singhji had also visited this place on 11 Poh 1761 which corresponds to 1705AD, when he had taken rest under the Ber Sahib which is still there next to Gurudwara Gurusar Sahib, after which he had gone to Gurudwara Degsar Sahib at Katana. During this time, he convinced Muslim soldiers that he was an Ucch De Peer, by asking his companions dine with them.
Gurudwara Gurusar Sahib was constructed in 1912AD and a lady called Kishan Kaur at her age of 60, participated in the construction of the shrine. This lady is also known for her bravery and commitment as she partook in the Jaito agitation in 1923AD. She sustained the attack on the Akhand path conducted for protecting the King which was used to hold at Gurudwara Gurusar Sahib and courted arrest. However, came back to serve the Gurudwara until her demise in 1952.
