History
With regard to Gurudwara Manji Sahib Patshahi Chheveen at Gujjarwal, the Sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib had visited this place in 1631AD during his tour of Malwa region. Guru Ji had his camp near a Pool of water. The village Chaudhry Phatuhi served Guru Ji with respect, but was very proud of his power. He visited Guru Ji with his servants and also carried a Hawk in his hand. When he inquired Guru Ji for any other service, Guru Ji asked him to give his Hawk to him. Chaudhry hesitated to give his Hawk, so Guru Ji did not insist upon his request. Quite unexpectedly as he reached home, his Hawk got sick by eating a Thong. Since no medication worked, he returned to Guru Ji asking for help. Guru Ji just patted the Hawk and made it vomit the Thong. At this stage, Chaudhry offered the hawk to Guru Ji when Guru Ji clarified that only to make him realize his pride, he asked for the hawk and he did not need it really. Guruji then blessed Chaudhry with a Turban, which is preserved by the descendants of Chaudhry.
With regard to Alamgir and the other two Manji Sahibs, they are established marking the tour in disguise as a Sufi Saint, that the Holy 10thGuruji, visited these places in a Manji, leaving Machiwara, and on his way into interior of Malwa in December 1705AD. During these visits Gurujji performed miracles of bringing water in a dry land, and few other events.
As a Manji or palanquin was carrying the disguised Guru to Alamgir, as the 'Peer of Ucch', the Gurudwara was called Manji Sahib and the original palanquin has been preserved here.
