Guru Ka Bagh Varanasi

Guru ka Bagh is ideally located in the heart of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The Gurudwara is actually devoted to Guru Nanak Sahib. He had a conversation with Pandit Chattar Das at this place. He got the horse as a gift from one of his Muslim friends. Guru Tej Bahadur friend's name was Saifuddin. He was dressed in a wonderful dark brown costume in Rajputana style. That costume is still conserved in Guru ka Bagh.

The gurudwara is also devoted to Guru Nanak Dev. The guru visited the sacred city of Varanasi during Shivratri festival in 16th century. He held different religious conversations with Sadhus and Brahmin scholars at this place. The current edifice of Gurdwara situated along Guru Nanak Marg was made during 1970s. The shrine is positioned at one specific end of a square hall with a broad gallery on 3 sides, and a veranda in front of doors. A few rooms and dormitories near the entry to the compound are available for devotees staying overnight.

It has been recommended to visit Guru Ka Bagh during winter season. Period from October to March is considered good for exploring Guru Ka Bagh in Varanasi. However, you can also visit Guru Ka Bagh during summer season. It might get very dry and hot during summer season. You can also visit Guru Ka Bagh during monsoon period.
