Gurudwara Sri Nanak Mata Sahib Vill

Gurudwara Sri Nanak Mata Sahib has its history of having been under the maintenance of Manants before the year 1937 and was the one built by the local inmates. The work started in 1975 on the land which was sanctioned by Nawab Mehendi Ali Khan and is one of the best buildings built from marble throughout. The Gurudwara also adores a lot of space in and around and has provisions for future expansion. The famous Pipal tree under which Guru Nanak Devji used to take shelter is well known and famous which is located between Gurudwara Patshahi sixth and the apex building. History also adds on to say that Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited here during the Third Udasi in 1514 AD, when it was otherwise known as Gorakhmata and there was conspiracy of the local Yogis who did not allow the locals to get educated and these Yogis were shocked to see Guru Nanak Ji sitting under the Pipal tree, a place not easily accessible to anyone more so during winter season.

More Description

A village situated in Nanakmatta area between Khatema and Sitarganj is Sri Nanak Mata Sahib Gurudwara and the same is at about 12 kms from Sitarganj of Udham Singh Nagar District. The Yogis had exaggerated the locals and controlled them not allowing any education or knowledge and Guru Nanak Ji who visited there, sat under a Pipal tree which is well known even today. This tree was not accessible and Guruji due to his power and meditation could sit there and any act of the Yogis to play their games did not materialize who ultimately realized their mistakes and surrendered to the Guru.

We can see many educational institutions being run here. Guru Nanak Balika Degree College, in affiliation to Kumaon University, Guru Nanak Balika Degree Inter College, Guru Nanak Inter College (both of which are under affiliation to UP Education Board) are the primary institutions here. Guru Nanak primary school is for boys and girls and has class up to 5th standard and Guru Nanak Academy which is affiliated with CBSE has around 800 students and provides Hostel facilities also.
