History
The story says that the Guru told a carpenter who was from Bahir, known as Malla, that he had the desire to reach Kaithal. He also inquired if there were any Sikh Devotee there. The carpenter told him that the place had two houses out of which one belonged to a Bania and the other one to a Sikh. When he reached there, the carpenter asked him as to which house he would like to visit first. The Guru replied that he wanted to visit one which was the nearest. He was taken to a fellow carpenter’s house who was also known as Malla and he served him with great Devotion. The Guru asked him to light a lamp for 40 days in reverence to the Guru's Darbar and he would soon be blessed with a son. He was duly blessed with a son in due course of time. The Bania also asked the Guru to visit his house which he did for lunch. He blessed the Banias home by saying that kirtans would be sung here. This is the site of the Gurudwaras Manji Sahib.
