Gurudwara Kothri Sahib
Gurdwara Kothri Sahib, dedicated to Guru Nanak Ji, is situated in the SultanpurLodhi city of Kapurthala district. This Gurudwara is a narrow low-roofed cell in a small house in Mohalla Vaddian.
History
Guru Nanak Ji worked as an accountant for NawabDaulat Khan Lodhi's provision store. Some jealous minds reported to the Nawab against Guru Ji that he was stealing from the store inventory. This Gurudwara is built on the place where Guru Ji was detained temporarily until the enquiry process was completed. On the other hand, when inventory was checked it was found that it was intact and the store was making profit. Besides apologizing profusely, the Nawab also offered Guru Ji promotion and the post of Prime Minister of the State. This was declined by Guru Nanak Ji as he had made his decision of dedicating his life to the welfare of Sikh community.
