Gurudwara Sant Ghat

It is narrated in the history that the Guru Nanak Ji took bath in Bein River then do his meditation and stayed for over 14 years in this area. During one of his days of taking bath here, the Guru went missing and came back only after three days to Gurudwara Sant Ghat Sahib where he attained enlightenment and started preaching Sikhism. Also, he is believed to have planted a Ber Tree on this spot which has grown to be a large one now. It was from this place the Guru went to world’s other places for preaching after attaining enlightenment.

Sant Ghat Sahib which is on the banks of river Bein is a place where the Guru re-appeared after disappearing from Bein River and thus attaining enlightenment. The Gurudwara which is located in the Sultanpur Lodhi of Kapurthala district of Punjab is very famous for its sanctity.

The place is named as Sant Ghat is because the Guru Nanak Devji mediated at this place to Akaal Purakh and then visited the world for serving humanity.

Also, the place Sultanpur Lodhi is a famous place in the Punjab State and is named after the Sultan Khan Lodhi who was the famous General of Mahmud Ghazni during 1013 AD.
