Gurudwara Bebe Nanki Ji
During 1464-1518, the elder sister of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder and first Gursikh of Sikhism, was the first one to bring into the world the spiritual awareness of her brother. Mehta Kalu and Mata Tripta were the parents of Guru Nanakji and her sister Bebe Nanaki. Bebe was born in Lahore and she was named after the name Nanakian which means ‘home of maternal parents’. Bebe Nanaki got married at the age of 11 to Jai Ram and had immense love and affection for her brother. She took care of Guru Nanak since 5 years of age. Bebe Nanaki had no children so all her affection and love was reflected for Guru Nanak Ji’s children Sri Chand and Lakshmi Chand.
