Gurudwara Dadu Dwara
Gurudwara Dadu Dwara is a famous structure situated in a big village called Narayana. The Gurudwara is situated 66 kms from Pink City Jaipur. It is a well-known center for Dadupanthis. Gurudwara Dadu Dwara was founded by Kabirpanthi Dadu. He is among the contemporaries of Guru Arjan Dev. It must be noted that the Gurudwara was once visited by Guru Gobind Singh. He visited Jaipur and other adjoining areas in the year 1706. Some locals believe that Guru Gobind Singh Ji raised his bow and arrow to salute the shrine of Kabirpanthi Dadu. Fellow gurus accompanying Guru Gobind Singh Ji immediately raised an objection. They tried to remind Guru Gobind Singh that idol worship is strictly prohibited in Sikhism. In fact, Guru Gobind Singh himself prohibited idol worship. It is not good to bow before such memorials and shrines. Guru Gobind Singh was extremely delighted by his fellow gurus. He was impressed by the vigilance and alertness shown by fellow Sikhs.
However, he told them he intentionally committed the error. He willingly paid the penalty inflicted on him by fellow Sikhs as a chastisement for doing what was a violation of the sacred code. He also held a dialogue with Jait Ram, who was the Dadupanthi main pastor during which he tried to explain that while empathy is a desirable feature, the observance of non-violence as sacred faith even against oppression and inequality is sheer weakness and no good quality. Commemorative to Guru Gobind Singh's visit to Dadu Dwara is actually in the shape of a marble-topped podium around a cluster of 3 big banyan trees. Gurudwara Dadu Dwara is maintained by Dadu Dwara Management.
