History
The tenth Holy Guru of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singhji made a historical tour around 1705AD to Machiwara in the Ludhiana district of Punjab State. He rested for a night in the attic belonging to Gulaba and Punjaba, and formerly Masand Gulaba was known to Guruji for he was the one who used to supply ration for him at Anandpur Sahib. Guruji, with the help of two Muslim brothers, who were his devotees too and supplied him horses earlier at Anandpur, disguised himself as Pir of Uchch by wearing a blue colored clothing went from this place to Alamgir. In the process of disguising himself, Guruji created an earthen pot for the dyer to dye his cloths, which is still kept as a relic in Gurudwara Ghani Khan Nabi Khan Sahib as a relic.
Main building of Gurudwara Chaubara Sahib has been renovated and complete, with little further scope for expansion.
It is in this location that Guru Gobind Singhji sang the shabad "Mitra Pyare Nu". The Gurudwara has its water supplies from the very same well believed to be the one from which the garden was watered during Guruji’s time of visit. This Gurudwara conducts an annual congregation fair during December, on 9th & 10th of Poh, which were the days of that month when Guruji stayed at Machiwara.
