Gurudwara Kabutar Sahib
It is a common belief among locals that there are numerous pigeons in the vicinity of Gurudwara Kabutar Sahib, hence the name Kabutar appeared. Devotees tend to feed these pigeons with grain. The overall idea is to seek holy blessings from the God. At the same time, pilgrims feed pigeons as a token of love and charity. It must be noted that one guru unintentionally trampled a pigeon and this lead to heated protests and arguments among local residents. These local residents actually followed the principles of non violence and they were deeply influenced by the teachings of their Guru. However, Guru pacified the angry crowd by instructing a barber to treat the injured pigeon.
On the other hand, there is a strong belief among locals that Guru revitalized the dead bird with his divine powers. Moreover, the barber constructed a monument at that place. It later became an object of holy reverence. A massive Gurudwara was constructed at the site in the year 1908 with useful efforts and contributions from a Sikh Tahsildar. Dhani Rayan, an early Sikh settler also contributed a lot towards the construction of Gurudwara Kabutar Sahib. With the massive influx of Sikh settlers and families, a new structure was built. Renowned personality Sant Fateh Singh named the beautiful structure as Gurudwara Kabutar Sahib.
