Gurudwara Chacha Phaggu Mal Sasaram
Gurudwara Shri Chacha Phaggu Mal Sahib is one of the three Gurudwaras situated in Sasaram Town, belonging to Distt Rohtasin Bihar State. This shrine is located at Jhani Bazaar in the town.
Sasaram town lies in the Calcutta-Delhi Highway and this place is known as Sher Shah Suri Marg, because it is also the birth place of Sher Shah Suri, one of the earlier Indian Emperors.
Chacha Phaggu Mal, also known as, Bhai Phaggu Mal, after whom this Gurudwara has been established, was a Gurmukh, Masand, a Devout of Gurughar and a  follower of Shri Guru Amar Das ji.
History
Bhai Phaggu Malji was sent to Sasaram as one of the emissaries of Sikhism to spread the message of the Sikh mission. Having come to Sasaram, he settled here throughout his life, carrying on the word of Sikhism spread throughout the region.
He was a devout Sikh, acknowledging the offerings of the devotees called Chadaava, he would remit them to the Gurus during their regular visits to Sasaram. This way he had associated with six Gurus of Sikhism and he is considered the only blessed person in Sikhism second to Baba BudhaJi Sahib, who had met Six Gurus, from Guru Shri Amar Das Ji to Guru Shri Tegh BahadurJi.
As Bhai Phaggu Malji grew older, he became too weak to travel, however used to pray a lot to see Guruji somehow. Knowing this, Guruji Tegh Bahadur Saheb during his Eastern tour, went to Bhai Phaggu Mal Ji's house, when he was literally lying in bed. Guruji as he entered the house, addressed him as "Chacha Phaggu Mal Ji", and Phaggu Mal Ji rose up to receive him. Chacha Phaggu Mal ji attended to Guruji, his family and the members of congregation extending his inimitable service to them. Since Guruji addressed him as 'Chacha', the name Chacha Phaggu Mal Ji stayed.
The door which Guruji opened himself to enter the house is kept in Gurudwara as a relic.
