Gurudwara Manji Saheb Village Pinjore

Gurudwara Manji Sahib located in the village Pinjore, Haryana is a popular Sikh Shrine of India. It is situated near the Pinjore Gardens. Guru Gobind Singh stopped here while travelling from Paonta Sahib after the battle of Bhangani in the year 1688.

The place remained murky till Motha Singh discovered the sacred spot which was later on raised as a platform in the memory of Guru Sahib.

History

It is said that Guru Nanakji visited this place during his 3rd Udasi in the year 1517. The place was a dense forest where a group practiced yoga. Guru Saheb preached them thoroughly about renunciation for salvation. There are many tales that Guruji cured many people from their various illnesses by sprinkling the sacred Baoli water which is still present in the Gurudwara.

Architecture

The original Manji Saheb construction has been replaced with a double storey dome structure with a rectangular meeting hall. It has a spacious brick paved courtyard that separates the building from the main complex. This courtyard also adjoins the "Guru Ka Langir" and accommodation rooms for the pilgrims. Here religious gathering and community meals take place on the daily basis.

Celebrations

On full moon day of every month, there is a huge celebration that takes place at Guru Manji Saheb Pinjore. The day is no less than any festive occasion and numerous pilgrims visited to seek blessings. There is also a new building being built adjacent to a museum covering Sikh history.

Best Time to Visit

The climate remains moderate throughout the year, however if you really want to enjoy the festive mood you better plan your journey during November to February months.

The roads connecting to the city of Haryana is good. There is a wide range of transportation available on a daily basis. Also you can hire a private cab or take a bus to reach the city.
