Gurudwara Khodiwala Ghat Sahib Village Babapur

Gurudwara Khodiwala Ghat is a physical memoir of Guru Nanak Dev ji. During his third Udasi, a holy journey, he spent his time to this place. It is said that when Guru Nanak Dev Ji reached to this place it was dark so the villagers of this place didn't offer hospitality to him and his followers.

The villagers asked Guru Nanak Dev to spend the night in a hut with the out-thrown villager. Then Guru Nanak Dev spent the night with the out-thrown villager. They enjoyed Kirtan and meditated during night. In this way, they soulfully passed the night.

The out-thrown slept well at that night because he was thrown out of the village due to the disease. He became mesmerized by the Kirtan and meditation. And he asked Guru Nanak Dev ji to cure his curse. After this incident, when the villagers came to know about this, they came to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and pleaded to forgive them as they were ignorant.

Guru Nanak Dev asked them to build a rest house for the travelers. In this way, this Gurudwara was built at that time.

Location and Its Surroundings

Gurudwara Khodiwala Ghat is located at the river bank of Ghaggar. So it is nice to spend time here. It is surrounded by the natural greenery.

Celebrations

The devotees of Guru Nanak Dev Ji celebrate his birthday every year. They also enjoy Baishakhi. They celebrate these two festivals with pure devotion and love towards each other.
