Coconut Burfi
Brief Description
Coconut Burfi is a very delicious and most famous Indian dessert which is made of fresh coconut. There are different varieties of burfi available and coconut Burfi is one of them. In it cholesterol and much of fat is present. Since coconut burfi is prepared without ghee so it very cheap. This recipe requires 30 min of cooking. It is also called as Naralachi Vadi in Marathi and Khobbri mithai in Kannada. It can be stored in an air tight container for at least 15 – 20 days and stays fresh and whenever required serve it to the guests. This recipe can be prepared very easily.
Time required to prepare 10-15 minutes Time required to cook 20-30 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For Coconut Burfi
- fresh grated coconut : 4 cups
- sugar, powdered : 1 cup
- elaichi, powdered : 1/4 tsp
- raisin-cashew-almond mixture : 3 to 4 tbsp
- ghee/butter : 1 to 2 tsp
- Condensed milk : 1
How to make Coconut Burfi
- Take coconut and sugar and mix it well with hands. Set it aside for 30 mins so that the sugar completely dissolves.
- Take a kadai and heat it. Now pour the mixture into it.
- Saute the mixture on low heat for approx. 15-20 mins until it forms a single dumpling.
- Now add the ingredient which is left except the ghee/butter and mix it well.
- Take a plate and grease it with ghee/butter and then transfer the mixture into it.
- Spread the mixture on the plate and allow it to cool.
- When the mixture is warm, take a knife and cut it into desired shapes.
- You can also store it in an air tight container.
- This recipe is also called as Kobbari Mithai

Some Useful Tips
- Allow the mixture to cool only for 10 mins otherwise it will be difficult to mark the pieces.
- It is not difficult to test the sugar syrup. When the sugar syrup becomes very sticky it means that it has reached the single string consistency level. Check it continuously if you are a first timer till it reaches the desired consistency
