Chicken Chukka
Brief Description
Follow this recipe to learn how to make chicken chukka. Chicken chukka is a dish from Hyderabad; it is very popular and obviously very yummy.
Preparation Time 15 mins Cooking Time 30 mins Serves 4 Ingredients for Chicken Chukka
- 1 kg chicken
- 2 finely chopped onions
- 1 tbsp crushed ginger-garlic
- 4 green chilies
- 2 sliced tomatoes
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 3 tsp chili powder
- 3 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tsp crushed pepper corns
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- Few curry leaves
- Oil as needed
How to make Chicken Chukka
- First we need to marinate chicken with sweet chili sauce, salt, pepper.
- Let the marinated chicken set for an hour.
- Heat up some oil in a pan.
- Drop in the chicken pieces and fry.
- When chicken gets slightly golden, add onions and keep frying.
- Throw in green chilies, coriander powder, chili powder, garam masala, turmeric and salt.
- Keep frying for some time.
- Sprinkle water, cover the lid and let it cook.
- Water will be completely gone when it is done.
- Add cumin powder and add in sum curry leaves as well.
- Mix well and ensure that it is a dry masala.
- Chicken chukka is ready to be served.
Some Useful Tips
- To peel off the skins of tomatoes, put them in a bowl and cover it with boiling water for 5 minutes. Take out the tomatoes and pierce them with a knife and take off the skins easily.
- For removing rust from a surface, coat it with salt and then squeeze some lemon on it.
