Sunnundalu
Brief Description
Minappa Sunnundalu (Urad Dal Laddo) is a famous sweet dish of Andhra which can prepared very easily and for at least 2 weeks it can be stored in an air tight container.
Time required to prepare 10 minutes Time required to cook 15-30 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For Sunnundalu
- black gram/minappappu/urad dal : 1 cup
- sugar : 1/2 cup
- ghee (Clarified Butter): 1/4 cup
- A few cardamom seeds/powder (Optional)
How to make Sunnundalu
- Take a pan and dry roast urad dal on a medium flame till it becomes golden brown in color.
- Take it out in a plate and set it aside to cool completely.
- Grind the dal into a smooth powder using a mixer. If you want you can also add cardamom seeds and then keep aside.
- Now grind the sugar into a fine powder and mix it with powdered dal.
- Pour the melted hot ghee into the urad dal mixture.
- Keep on mixing ghee and dal mixture with hands until it mixes well.
- Do not keep the mixture aside for a long time as it will dry soon.
- Now make balls of small or medium size with this mixture.
- Put them on a plate for sometime so that it can dry. Serve and enjoy these aromatic ladoos.
Some Useful Tips
For at least 1-2 months black gram powder and sugar mixture can be easily stored in an air tight container and whenever you want to prepare dish just mix melted hot ghee in it and make balls.
