Doodh Pedha
Brief Description
Doodh Pedas is one of the most famous, tasty and classic Indian sweet dish. It has a soft and silky texture. It is very delicious and just melts in mouth. Peda is a famous sweet dish of Indian subcontinent and is generally prepared in thick and semi-soft pieces. The main ingredient which is used to prepare it is sugar, condensed milk, khoya, doodh malai and kesar.
Time required to prepare 7 minutes Time required to cook 25 minutes Serves 8 to 10 Ingredients For Doodh Pedha
- homemade paneer : 1 big cup
- milk powder : 1/3 cup
- milk : 1 small cup
- unsalted butter : 50 g
- sugar : 1 cup
- cardamom powder : 1/4 tsp
- Pistachios, for garnishing
How to make Doodh Pedha
- Take a non stick pan and melt butter in it.
- Add milk in it.
- Stir it well and bring it to boil.
- Add milk powder and mix it well.
- Now add paneer in it and mix it well.
- Cook the mixture on medium heat and stir it continuously.
- Ensure that at the bottom, the mixture doesn’t get burn.
- Low the flame and keep stirring the mixture until it becomes thick.
- The mixture will leave the sides in approx. 10 to 12 mins.
- Turn off the flame when the texture of smooth dough is formed.
- Take it out into a bowl and cool it.
- Add cardamom powder and sugar when the mixture is slightly warm.
- Take the mixture and knead it to a fine dough.
- Now make small balls from the dough and nicely flatten it.
- Repeat the same with rest of the pedas.
- When they`re soft & moist, use sliced pistachios for garnishing at the top.
- Set it aside for about 20 mins.
- Dhood Pedas are ready. Serve and enjoy it.
