Sheer Korma
Brief Description
Sheer Korma is a famous sweet dish which is made of dried dates. It is generally prepared by the Muslims at the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr and is served to the family as breakfast on the morning of Eid after the Eid prayer. It is also served to the entire guests who visit the house on the occasion of Eid. It is very famous in South Asia and the rest of Central Asia.
Time required to prepare 10 minutes Time required to cook 15 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For Sheer korma
- Vermicelli : 1 packet
- Milk : 1 gallon Whole
- Sugar : 1 cup
- Cardamom Pods : 20 cloves Whole
- Cardamom Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
- Almond, Cashews and Pistachios, slivered : 1 cup
- Fresh Cream : 1/2 cup
- Saffron Strands : 1/2 tsp
- Charoli Nuts : 3 tbsp
- Light Brown Raisins : 1/2 cup
- Rose Water : 1/2 tsp
- Butter : 1 tbsp
How to make Sheer korma
- Fry the vermicelli in the butter until it becomes golden brown in color but make sure that it is not burnt. Meanwhile all the butter will get dried till it gets cooked.
- Add 1/4 cup of sugar in it and mix it well. Allow it to cook for few seconds then add the whole milk in it and stir it continuously. Allow it to boil.
- Now add cashews and pistachios, whole cardamom, raisins, 1/2 cup almonds and the remaining sugar in it.
- Lower the flame and cook the sheer korma upto the level of three-strand consistency. Allow the milk to boil until it becomes half.
- When the vermicelli becomes very soft then add charoli, fresh cream and rose water in it. Allow it to cook on low flame and cover it for 10 minutes.
- Use powdered cardamom and saffron strands for garnishing. Serve and enjoy it.
