Brief Description
Chum chum is popular Bengali sweet. This east Indian sweet is made up of paneer that is kind of cheese which is made in homes. There are many different ways to platter chum chum preparation. Here are the detailed recipes of three varieties of chum chum, it includes serving chum chum recipe with pistachio nuts, coconuts or with malai that is domestic cream.

- Whole Milk In Five Litres
- Two Kg Sugar
- Maida As Per Requirement
- Cream In Two Hundred Millilitres
- Two Cups Of Sirka Or Vinegar
- Pink Food Color Or Orange Food Color
- Chopped Nuts For Garnishing The Chum Chum Preparation
How To Make Chum Chum
- Take milk in a pot and heat it on medium flame. Put some vinegar in it and keep stiriing the milk till it gets curdling in it. Once you notice curdling in milk take it in a separate dish and strain off the remains separating curdles. This helps in getting a thick chenna or paneer from curdled milk. Later this strained mixture of chena that is obtained is beaten continuously until it gets smooth. After the curdled mixture gets smooth add maida to it and form a little thick batter that can be rolled to form balls. Before making balls add little pink color to the dough. Floor and dough should be mixed properly in appropriate amount.
- Take the dough and make oblong shaped balls of unique size. Make thin syrup of sugar and bring it to boil. Add the oblong balls to the boiling sugar syrup. Cook the balls of chum chum for some time. After getting the balls cooked you will notice that the balls start floating on top of the sugar syrup. Take little amount of sugar syrup and dilute it further by addition of water to it. Now take out the cooked chum chum oblong balls and allow them to soak in this diluted sugar syrup. This soaking of the balls will take around eight to ten minutes. After the balls soak take them out on platter and whip cream on them.

Some Useful Tips
- Cooking should be done on a high flame
- There should be the observation of continuous frothing in sugar syrup
- The filing of sugar syrup should be equal to one third of the vessel in which it is cooked.
- Little water should be sprinkled on syrup Chum chum.
