Brief Description
Doi Mach is the traditional recipe of Bengal. It is made by cooking fish in thick Yogurt Sauce. This dish is very easy to prepare and is a very nice dish that can be served on special occasions to the guests. This dish is made with Rohu fish, which is found in fresh water and is from the carp family. Some other fishes that can be tried out well while preparing this dish are Buffalo Carp, Carp and also with salmon. If the fish is fresh and firm sand smooth, There is no need to fry it. One can know that how to make a good Doi Mach with the help of the following recipe.
Time of preparation 15 minutes Time of cooking 30 minutes Total Servings 4 serves Ingredients for Doi Mach
- Five Fish Pieces
- Five Tablespoon Curd
- One Onion Large In Size
- One Large Ginger
- Four Teaspoon Powder Of Cardamom
- Turmeric Powder One Teaspoon
- One Teaspoon Powder Of Cumin Seeds
- Two Chopped Green Chillies
- Mustard Or Refined Vegetable Oil For Frying
- Red Chilli
- Salt To Taste
How To Make Doi Mach
- Firstly, the onion is chopped and grinded to make a fine and thin paste.
- Then grind ginger to make a smooth a thick paste.
- The fish pieces are then washed and cleaned properly.
- Salt is added and turmeric powder is mixed up well with the fish pieces.
- Then the cooking oil is heated well and the fish is fried up in it.
- Then the ginger paste, onion paste powder of cardamom and cumin seeds is fried together.
- In this mixture, fish is added and cooked until it gets cooked well.
- Now curd is mixed along with green chilies which are chopped.
- This final mixture is kept over medium flame and cooked for some time.
- Doi Mach is served hot along with Rice.
