Description Of Shrimp Pulavu

Shrimp Pulavu Recipe: Ingredients Required
In order to make this recipe you are required to arrange the following ingredients.
- Basmati Rice (500 grams)
- Shrimp (1 Kilograms)
- Bay Leaf of 2 nos
- Sliced Onion (A quarter cup)
- Leaves of Coriander (1 tbsp)
- Freshly grated coconut (1 tbsp)
- Lemon-juice (1 tbsp)
- Powdered-Turmeric (half tbsp)
- Green Chili (Two Numbers)
- Garam-Masala (Two nos)
- Ghee and Oil (2 tsp)
- Salt to taste
Shrimp Pulavu Recipe: How To Make Shrimp Pulavu
- In the very first step rice are washed well and are soaked for at least 20 minutes.
- Now these are drained and kept aside for a while
- Shrimps are washed and cleaned.
- Now ghee or oil is heated in the pan of thick bottom
- Bay leaves are added and followed by addition of Garam-Masala
- As soon as it starts crackling sliced onion is added further and it is sautéed until the onion turns pinkish or light reddish.
- It is boiled now significantly and after that rice is added in the same.
- After adding rice it is now cooked for one minute and after it is cooked to an extent shrimps is added.
- Salt is added
- It is now again stirred. However lightly.
- This mixture should be stirred unless whole of the water is absorbed by the rice and it is covered with the lid of the pan. Boiling on flame of low level should be continued until the rice as well as shrimps are cooked well.
- Ensured that it is now cooked well it is removed from the heat and it is garnished with fresh chopped green leaves of coriander as well as with fresh grated coconut.
- After it is garnished it is now ready to be served.
