Brief Description
One of the famous and popular street foods of Tamil Nadu and of the city f god’s own country. Made with the help of simple Maida or plain flour .This is purely an oily item and usually floats in oil. People who suffer from different health risk should avoid this kind of stuff. It is a tedious dish to make as it takes longer time to cook and get it served. It is interesting to note here that it is used in marriage and rituals or in special occasion.
It is necessary to start the preparation at the earliest as it is first needed to prepare dough and then the cooking will take place. Preparation time includes mixing and collecting all the ingredients
Preparation Time Required 4 mins approximately Cooking Time Required 20 mins almost Serves 3 Ingredients For Parotta:-
- For Kneading
- All Purpose flour - 4 cups,maida
- Cooking Oil - 1 tblspwould be sufficient
- salt - 1 tsp or as per the taste
- sugar - 1/2 tsp,not to exceed this
- water - 1 cup for making Dough
For Making Parottas
For cooking the parotas, one item is necessary which the cooking oil
- Oil - 1/2 cup
How To Make Parotta
- Start with making dough, for that take a medium sized bowl or container, mix flour, salt and baking soda nicely.
- Now with the help of a special spoon made up of wood add hot water.
- Now in this add oil or dalda.
- Mix well using your hands.
- Now cover this bowl with a lid and keep it for an hour.
- Start making the small size balls and rotate it on a flat surface. Make it as thin as possible only then it appeals.
- Once the rolling is done on the top brush some oil and now start folding it like a sari fleets starting from one end to the other.
- Now make it in a concentric circle form by usually making it round.
- Once it is done make it flat again.
- Again put some more oil on top of it.
- Now make it flat again but do not make it very thin this time.
- Continue by taking some oil in the pan and deep-frying.
- Once the colour changes serve it hot.
