Brief Description
Dosa is a savory crispy pancake and this has been originated from South India and it is its staple food. In fact, Dosas are very popular in other countries and you can easily find the Dosas in Udipi restaurants. The south Indian dishes are so popular that they can be found in every suburb. In order to prepare this Dosa recipe you will be requiring only 10 minutes. Here, are the complete steps of preparation.
Time for preparation 10 minutes Time taken for cooking 20 minutes Number of people 8 Ingredients For Dosa Recipe:-
- 1 cupSemolina(Rava)
- ½ cup Rice Flour(Ari podi)
- 2 Green Chilies(finely chopped)
- 1” piece Grated Ginger
- A few Coriander leaves(finely chopped)
- A pinch Soda bi-carb
- 6-7 Cashew nuts(finely broken)
- 2½ cups Buttermilk
- 1 tsp Oil (for batter)
- As required Salt
- ½ tbsp Cumin seeds(Jeerakam)
- 6 tbsp Oil for making Dosas
How To Make Dosa Recipe
- In first step, you should wash all raw rice, fenugreek seeds and urad dal. Then, you will be required to soak them in water and you should also take cooked rice and beaten rice. This should be done for 2 hours.
- Now, prepare a smooth paste and add water in it. You should cover this and keep aside for 4 hours. Now, add in it salt and make sure that it mixes well.
- Now, take a non-sticky tava and grease it with the help of oil. When it is hot, then you should pour in it batter and you should spread this in a circular motion in order to make thin Dosa and cook it from one side only.
- You will be required to pour few drops of oil, while cooking. When it becomes crispy, then you should fold it and it is ready to serve hot. You can repeat this with remaining batter.
- You can serve this Dosa along with sambhar and coconut chutney.

Some Useful Tips
- When the Dosa is ready, you can add potato bhaji inside it. This will make the Dosa tastier.
- You should roll the Dosa in the form of cylindrical shape and this is ready to be served hot.
