Brief Description
Curd Rice is a South Indian recipe and this dish is can be prepared in just 20 minutes and it is very easy to prepare as well. You just need to do the preparation of plain cooked rice and then it will be taking only few minutes extra. In case, you are going to picnic, then you can take this dish and you can also take this dish in office and also as a lunch to school.

For Curd Rice
- 2 cups Cooked rice
- 3/4 cup Plain curd
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 or 2 Green chilies
- 1/4 tablespoon Ginger paste
- 1 tsp chopped Coriander leaves(Cilantro)
- 4-5 Curry leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon or to taste Salt
For Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 tea spoon Bengal gram dal
- 1/2 tea spoon Urad (black gram)dalĀ
- 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- A Pinch of Asafoetida
How To Make Curd Rice Recipe
- Foremost, you will be required to wash rice and then you should put them in a pressure cooker and make sure that it gets cooked properly.
- Now, you will be required to take the pan and add in it some oil and heat that oil.
- When the oil starts becoming hot, then you will be required to add in it curry leaves, dry red chilies and mustard seeds. Ensure that you cook the chilies until it becomes black.
- Now, you will be required to stir this mixture and add salt and curd in it. After this step, you should add the cooked rice in this curd mixture and mix it properly.
- This dish is ready to be served and you can use coriander leaves for the purpose of garnishing.

Some Useful Tips
- It is recommended that you should use curd yogurt and you should also add fresh cream in it so that it becomes yummy.
- You should mix the curd rice, before serving and this should be eaten within half an hour. In case, you are not interested in eating it immediately, then you should put that in fridge. In case, if it becomes thick, then you should add in it little milk.
- You can also add in it cucumber, pomegranate seeds along with chopped onion. This will prevent the curd rice from becoming thick.
- It is recommended that you should add curd mixture along with milk in rice mixture.
