Brief Description
Kadhamba Saadham is a string or assortment of similar things. Saadham is similar to rice and this is a vegetable curry. This dish is made with assortment of spiced tamarind curry, mixed vegetables and this is usually mixed with rice.
Time for preparation 25 minutes Time taken for cooking 45 minutes Number of people 4 people Ingredients for Kadhamba Saadham Recipe:-
- 1 cup Rice
- 1/2 cup Thoor Dhal
- 1 tsp Coriander Seeds
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Tamarind Water
- 1 tsp Channa Dhal
- 5 Dry Red Chilly
- 1/2 tsp Venthayam
- a pinch Asafetida
- 1 tsp Sambar Powder
- 2 tsp Gingelly Oil
- 2 tsp Ghee
- 1 medium Potato
- 1 medium Brinjal
- 5 Cluster Beans
- 10 Beans
- 1 Carrot
- a thin slice Pumpkin
How To Make Kadhamba Saadham Recipe
- Foremost, you should cook rice in two and half cups pf water.
- Now, you will be required to take one cup of water and cook thoor dhal in it. You will be required to add a pinch of turmeric powder.
- Now, you should clean the vegetables and cut them into large pieces and then you will be required to cook it in water.
- You should fry the coriander seeds, channa dal, asafetida, venthayam and red chilies in oil and you will be required to power them with salt.
- As soon as it starts to boil, then you should heat the tamarind powder.
- You will be required to add in it sambhar powder and mix it along with prepared powder.
- You should allow it to boil for five minutes and make sure that smell of raw tamarind gets disappeared.
- Now, you should add in it cooked vegetables along with cooked thoor dal. You should boil this mixture for few more five minutes.
- Now, add in it gingerly oil along with ghee into cooked rice and make sure that it gets mashed well.
- Now, you will be required to pour in it prepared sambhar over rice and you should mix it well.
- Make sure that you are not using any spatula or ladle for mixing. This is done so that vegetables are prevented from mashing.
- Apart from adding all other vegetables, you can also add in it Raw banana, Chow-chow and Yam. This is completely according to your taste and liking.

- Ensure that you don not mix curd with all the other ingredients.
- You can add curd to milk and carry it in a bottle.
