Brief Description
Poories are most commonly used dish which is widely on many occasions of party, weddings etc apart from that it is common dish which is commonly prepared on festive occasions. It can be prepared by filling certain material like alloo or urad daal which gets tastier as compared to that of simple dish. You can make vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dish. You can serve it with your favorite pickle. It is pale golden in color and it is puffed up in the pan to make it rounded like a ball. Poori recipe is very simple and it can be used in a simple way.

You are required to arrange following Ingredients required to make this dish.
- Whole wheat flour (2 cups)
- Water (sufficient quantity to make dough)
- Salt-to-taste
- Oil or ghee for frying (vegetable, sunflower or canola oil)
Poori Preparation: How To Make Poori
- First of all flour should be put in a large bowl. After making a well in the center pour in a water stream in this well.
- With one hand flour should be mixed in with water until it gets turned into dough which is ultimately gathered into the moist mass.
- It should be kneaded until whole of the mixture has turned into the dough of non-sticky as well as knead able nature. This dough when kneaded it would be elastic and smooth like the silk.
- For testing this dough you can press the dough with a fingertip. In case it springs back it is said that it is ready. Once it is ready it is kept as it is for certain time.
- Resting of dough allows it to relax and absorb the water.
- Dough is covered with wet towel
- It is kneaded again and small balls are made thereof
- These balls are rolled out on the smooth surface
- When these pooris are rolled out oil in plenty is heated in the kadhai
- As oil is heated rolled out pooris are fried in it
- These should be roasted these are turned into golden brown
- Don’t forget to puff of the pooris.
- When cooked and puffed out it is just now ready to be served with pindi choley or other vegetables.

- Poories should be fried at the quickest. In case flour is rested for a long time it gets tough
- Addition of cumin or dal masala makes poories to have attractive flamours.
