Brief Description
Methi Roti is a tasty spicy Indian cuisine which is made up of wheat flour and fenugreek leaves. It is easy to make. Methi roti (also known as Parathe or Methi thepla). It could be a part of any meal. You can have this roti with pickles, yogurt, and any kind of raita, tea, or coffee.
Total Preparation Time 15 minutes Total Cooking Time 30 minutes Servings 4 Ingredients of Methi Roti
- Wheat Flour - 1 1/4 cups
- Finely Chopped Fenugreek Leaves- 1 cup
- Haldi Powder- 1 Tablespoon
- Red Chili Powder- ½ tablespoon
- Salt Acc to Taste
- Warm Water- 1/2 cup
- Vegetable Oil - 5 tablespoon
How to make Methi Roti
- In a bowl, dip some methi leaves into the water. Add salt, chili powder, turmeric powder. Let it cool.
- Now mix wheat flour into the dipped methi leaves and add enough warm water to make dough. Apply some oil to it and keep aside for about 10 mins.
- Make 12 equal portions of the dough; give them a disc shape of about 5 ½ inches diameter.
- Preheat non stick tava, upon it place the roti and cook for about 10 sec. Now using spatula, apply some oil on both sides of the roti. Cook until the color changes to light brown on both sides.
- Serve hot methi roti with any pickle or yogurt.
