Brief Description
There are only certain places of Rajasthan where Bajra grows, but still Bajra Rotis are popular all over the Rajasthan state. These thick Bajra Rotis are cooked over cow dung cakes (“kanda”), so that Rotis get flavorised by the smoke.
Total Preparation Time 5 minutes Total Cooking Time 10 minutes Servings 4 Ingredients of Bajra Roti
- Bajra (Black Millet) Flour- 2 cups
- Whole Wheat Flour (Gehun Ka Atta)- 1/4 cup
- Salt - Acc to Taste
- Ghee
How to make Bajra Roti
- Add adequate hot water into the combination of Bajra Flour, Salt, and Wheat Flour so that soft dough can be made.
- Make 8 equal parts of the dough and roll them into the disc shape of 150 mm.
- Rotis should be covered with dry Bajra flour so that rolling can be done easily.
- Cook these Rotis on griddle until both sides color changes to light brown.
- Apply Ghee on one side of roti and serve.
