Brief Description
Coorgi Roti’s are popular south Indian dish. These are prepared in a traditional way. These are flaky and Soft. Made up of rice.
Total Preparation Time 10 minutes Total Cooking Time 15 minutes Servings 6 Ingredients of Coorgi Roti
- Cooked Rice - 1½ cup
- Rice Flour - 2 cups
- Salt - 1 ½ table spoon
- Water acc to requirement.
- Ghee/Oil acc to requirement.
How to make Coorgi Roti
- Clean the rice flour first. Mix it with salt in a bowl.
- Add 2 tbsp of water in cooked rice and mesh it.
- Add mixture into the rice flour and mix it well.
- Add enough water and shape the mixture into a dough.
- For some time keep dough aside covered with a wet muslin cloth.
- Make small balls from dough and roll it like a roti.
- With remaining balls repeat the same process.
- On griddle cook these rotis one by one until color changes to light brown on both sides.
- Apply Ghee to rotis and serve with pickles or hot and tasty chutney.
Some Useful Tips
- Variation : Masala Coorgi Pooris
- Add ¼ tbsp of chopped coriander and 1-2 finely chopped green chillies to mixture and then make dough.
- Make 12 equal parts of Dough, roll them, and fry them deeply in a hot oil.
- Serve with pickles.
