Brief Description
Ingredients required for Pav Vada is easily available and it takes very less time to prepare the recipe. For Pav Vada Preparation, you are required to prepare a filling of deep fried and spicy potato. You can fill spicy potato in gram flour and most noticeable part is this dish is served when hot in “Laddi Pav” along with chutney prepared from chilly and garlic. You must have gathered memories of Vada Pav while having a business tour to Vapi either by train or bus. Vada Pav is a famous dish of Maharashtra and you will be quite surprised to know that dish has gained popularity in Gujarat as well.
Preparation Time Approx ten minutes Cooking Time Around 30 minutes Serves eight pieces Ingredients for Pav Vada:-
- Eight Ladi Or Small Squares Of Pavs (White Bread)
- Recipe Of Garlic Chutney
- Vegetable Oil For Preparing Filling And Deep Frying Bread
For The Vada Filling
- One And Half Cup Of Boiled As Well As Mashed Potato
- Two Chopped Chillies
- One And Half Tablespoon Of Grated Garlic
- One Tablespoon Of Mustard Seeds Or Rai
- One-Fourth Tablespoon Asafetida Or Hing
- Six To Eight Curry Leaves Or Kadi Patta
- One And Half Tablespoon Turmeric Powder
- One Tablespoon Oil
For The Outer Covering
- Three-Fourth Cup Besan Or Gram Flour Of Bengal
- One-Fourth Tablespoon Turmeric Powder
- Small Quantity Of Baking Soda
- One Tablespoon Oil
- Salt Depending Upon The Taste
How To Make Pav Vada
- Batter some ginger, garlic and green chillies using mortar and grinder.
- Heat oil and mix some mustard seeds
- Add Asafoeitda along with curry leaves when mustard seeds start crackle and sauté all the ingredients for few seconds.
- Add bettered mixture and again stir fry for few seconds
- Now, add turmeric powder, salt, potato and mix finely
- Remove from fire and let Pav Vada Recipe cool for a while
- Divide mixture in eight equal portions of round balls
For The Outer Covering
- Mingle Pav Vada Preparation in a deep bowl and prepare a batter using one-third cup of normal water
- Dip every ball of Vada filling in pound
- Now, fry balls in hot until it becomes golden brown. Soak it on porous paper and dish up it when hot
How To Proceed
- Slice every Pav ball into half and spread garlic chutney on it
- Place single Vada in every Pav and your Pav Vada Recipe is ready

Some Useful Tips
- Laddi pavs are small square shaped white bread rolls which are available at local bakeries.
- You can also use bread roll or slices if the pav is not available.
