If one is in Mumbai one should always have a bite of the most prevalent dish that has conquered the whole world i.e. Pav Bhaji. It is easy to cook and has been there since decades helping thousands of people in grabbing a quick meal or snacks. The Maharashtrian Bhaji Recipes details are as follows:
Serves: 4 Persons
Preparation Time: 20 minutes and 30 minutes for cooking.For Pavs:
8 loaves of Pav crisped and fried with butter.For Bhaji:
1 chopped and finely shredded capsicum
2 finely chopped onions minutely cut.
2 finely chopped tomatoes.
2 1/2 cups finely cut and chopped vegetables consisting of beans, potatoes, cauliflower, carrots.
1/2 cup peas taken out from their shell
2 tbsp. butter (salted preferred)
2 tsp. Pavbhaji Masala
1/2 tsp. chilli powder
1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. sugar
salt according to the taste
1 cup water (this water can be the same in which the vegetables will be boiled in the pressure cooker)
1/2 tsp. grated and shredded ginger and ½ tsp. finely cut garlic.
½ piece of lemon juice.
For Topping And Garnishing:
1 tbsp. finely chopped coriander leaves.
1 finely chopped onion to be eaten as a topping.
4 small pieces of lemon depending upon the taste.
Description:- Mix all the vegetables and peas in a pressure cooker and boil till they are soft
- After draining take out in a big pan and mash them together properly.
- Put a pan on gas and put some butter on it.
- Add ginger garlic and fry till it becomes golden yellow, mix capsicum, onions and tomatoes and fry them for 3 minutes till they become soft.
- Add Pav bhaji masala, turmeric and chilli powder along with salt, sugar according to the taste and let it fry for another 3 minutes on a medium flame.
- Fry till the boiling point.
- Let it simmer till the mixture becomes like thick gravy meanwhile gyrating and mashing the pieces in between.
- Add lemon juice in the end garnishing with chopped coriander and a chunk of cube of butter.
