Brief Description
By following this easy recipe, we will learn to make the Bhakra recipe preparation in easy simple steps. It is an Asian dish, which never fails to impress the visitors. The bhakra derives it flavors from wheat. The dish is not time consuming and takes less than 30 minutes to prepare. The dish makes for a good breakfast, as it is not too heavy to digest. One can enjoy the dish anytime during a day be it morning, afternoon or evening. The dish is favourite among children as they always keep on looking for something tasty and light to eat at intermittent breaks.
Preparation Time 15 minutes Cooking Time 20 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For Bhakra:-
- 4 Tsp Oil
- 2 Tsp Cardamom Powder
- 150 Gms Rava
- 2 Tsp Cashewnuts
- 100 Gms powdered sugar
- Salt to taste
- Toddy(1/2 bottle)
- 120 Gms nutmeg powder
- 500 Gms whole wheat flour
How To Make Bhakra
- Sift separately all purpose flour and wheat flour
- Sieve the semolina also.
- Put ghee and sugar in a deep frying pan and stir for 5 minutes
- Mix rava and flour thoroughly
- Add cashew nuts, sugar, oil , salt cardamom powder and nutmeg powder to the mixture
- We can add vanilla essence to the mixture for good flavors.
- Add baking powder and mix all ingredients until they are thoroughly mixed.
- Add toddy and make it into soft sticky dough
- Add about 1 tablespoon more to the dough to avoid stickiness in the mixture.
- Cover and keep for 3-4 hours at a warm place.
- On a pastry board sprinkle a little wheat flour and roll the dough in a large round shape ½ centimeter thick while making a Bhakra recipe.
- One can cut as many rounds of 6 centimeters of the paste as possible.
- Take a frying pan put oil or ghee up to a depth of 5 centimeters and heat.
- Put the heat to medium and deep fry Bhakras until they are golden brown. Make sure the heat of the fire should not be too intense.
- One can serve the bahkra immediately or allow them to cool for sometime in an air tight container.
