This Popular Dish also known as Lamb Dhansak is quite famous, Parsi Lamp Recipes are either made of lamb, best part for this dish being it can be turned all together as a vegetarian. Another quality is it can be stored for some time and eaten the next day which even exceeds the earlier taste. Parsi Lamp Recipes details are as follows:
Servings: for 4 persons
Time Taken: 30 minutesIngredients:
- 500 gms of mutton washed, chopped and skinned.
- 2 Onions properly chopped
- 2 Tomatoes properly chopped
- 2 cup of coriander leaves and 2 leaves of bay
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1+1/2 cup of Mixed dal ( Tuar + Val +Masoor +Moong )
- 1 Brinjal, Carrot, Potato each with a little orange pumpkin
- Methi
- 1 Piece of Cinnamon
- 4 tbsp of Tamarind Masala
- 6 pieces or cloves of garlic
- Ginger, chillies, Garam Masala
- Salt and Black Pepper according to the taste
Method To Make Parsi Mutton Recipes :
- Take all the masalas in a blender mix very little water in it and grind them to a fine paste.
- Cut the potatoes and methi leaves and chop the vegetables in small pieces.
- Take a pressure cooker and boil dal, vegetables and meat pieces in to make them soft and edible.
- Mix the mixture properly after they are boiled
- Take a pan and put oil in it. Put chopped onions in it and wait till they turn brown.
- Add the pasted masala, bay leaves, chopped tomatoes and coriander leaves in it.
- Roast till the oil comes out from the side
- Add salt and turmeric powder and wait for 2 minutes more.
- Add the dal, meat and potatoes in it,
- Add more water and let it simmer.
- Adjust it to become a little thick
- Tastes better when served hot with brown rice or Indian Bread.
