Brief Description
Peshawari Naan is a special Naan stuffed with raisins and nuts. Learn how to prepare Peshwari Nan by following this recipe.
Total Preparation Time 10 minutes Total Cooking Time 15 minutes Servings 4 Ingredients of Peshwari Naan
- Plain Flour – 500gm
- Milk – 250 milliliters
- Water – 200 milliliters
- Egg – 1 piece
- Butter, Melted – 25gm
- Sugar – 1 tablespoon
- Baking Powder – 1 tablespoon
- Bicarbonate of Soda – 1 tablespoon
- Ground Almonds – 1 tablespoon
- Thick Plain Yogurt – 2 tablespoon
- Sultanas – 2 tablespoon
- Clarified Butter, for Frying – 5 tablespoon
- Salt – ½ tablespoon
How to make Peshwari Naan
- Mix bicarbonate of soda, salt, baking powder and flour in a large bowl.
- Add egg, yogurt, butter, milk, water and stir the mixture till it becomes smooth dough.
- Tip out onto a floured board and knead in the sultanas and almonds.
- Now, make 8 balls from the dough and put it on a floured baking sheet and give it a naan shape.
- Leave it for around 15 minutes.
- Put a frying pan over a medium heat.
- Now, add a tablespoon of clarified butter.
- Cook the naan, till them become golden and puffed up.
- Serve them with curry.

Some Useful Tips
- While frying the naan, with help of frying spoon press the center of naan lightly, to make it puff up.
- Chole masala is a blend of spices which is readily available at most grocery stores.
