Brief Description
Make Bhatura Dough by using leavening agents like curd, soda and then leave it for some hours to ferment before taking them out to deep fry. This is basically the recipe of making bhaturas which uses mashed up potatoes to soften up. Moreover, these bhaturas do not turn chewy and rubbery when eaten cold.
Total Preparation Time 10 minutes Total Cooking Time 15 minutes Servings 4 Ingredients of Bhaturas
- All Purpose Flour -2 cups
- Yoghurt -3/4 cup
- Baking Soda -1/2 tsp
- Sugar -1 tbsp
- For Frying Use Vegetable Oil
- Salt According to Taste
How to make Bhaturas
- Clean the flour and mix baking soda and salt to it
- Now add sugar and yoghurt to the flour.
- Now add adequate amount of lukewarm water and blend it to the mixture to make soft dough.
- The dough should be covered with a wet cloth and should be kept in warm place for fermentation for about 3-4 hours
- Divide it equally in 10-12 portions and roll them into ball shape. Now cover it and leave it aside for about 5 minutes.
- Now flatten the ball shape dough by pressing in between the greased palms.
- Now roll them to 5-6 inch diameter like a big puri.
- Now pour some heat oil in a kadai and for deep frying put it on high flame.
- Now bhaturas are ready to serve hot with chhole.

Some Useful Tips
- To puff up the bhatura press the central part lightly with a frying spoon while frying
- Chole masala which is a mixture of many spices is easily available at almost every grocery store.
