Description Of The Recipe
Pickle has been taste of Indian cuisines. Various types of pickle have been inseparable part of various Indian cuisines. Salt Fish Bulchais also a popular pickle which is made up of dried fish. This pickle is very tasty and once you see it is irresistible to remain untouched.
Time Required Preparation:
Preparation Time: It requires approximately 15 minutes
Cooking Time: Further 30 minutes of time is required for cooking this dish
Number of people to be served: Four IndividualsIngredients Required
In order to make this recipe you are required to arrange for the following ingredients.
- Good quality fish should be used in order to make this pickle. A Promfret or a seer would do the best
- Salted fish is soaked in the water for a certain time and after that turmeric powder as well as salt is added followed by frying it.
- Now fish are kept aside to cool. All of the bones are removed from it and are mashed. Now it is kept aside
- In the next step of this recipe a quarter cup of oil is minced in the finely chopped onions.
- Green chilies (minced)
- Green coriander leaves (should be chopped)
- Leaves of curry
- Ginger
- Paste of garlic
- Powdered chilli
- Powdered cumin
- Salt as per the taste
How The Pickle Of Salt Fish Bulcha Is Made
- First, all of the minced ingredients should be fried in oil. It should be ensured that onion has turned brown.
- Now pastes of ginger as well as garlic are added. Further it is continued to heat it on the flame of medium level. This heating should be continued till the garlic smell is removed.
- Chili powder as well as cumin powder is added and the mixture is fried until the oil appears on the surface followed by addition of thick juice of tamarind after which the whole of the dish should be mixed well.
- Now fishes are added and fried however these should not be burnt. It is cooked until appropriate thickness is achieved. It should be converted in the form of chutney.
- After removing from fire it is kept in the cool bottle and is kept.

Useful Tips
It is better to use the pickle in 2-3 days when tamarind has been used as the ingredients.
