Brief Description:
In India, Green Poori is commonly known as “Indian Spinach Bread” or “Palak Poori” that is appetizing and colorful. Recipe is especially for those who do not like Spinach but finds Poori quite attractive and enticing. Palak Poori appears like green color of spinach but has slightly different flavor. You can serve Palak Poori with any vegetarian or non-vegetarian dish and no doubt, it makes a perfect match with any Indian dish. Green Poori preparation is comparatively simple and takes very less time. Some useful information regarding dish is given below.
Preparation Time Around 10 minutes Cooking Time Fifteen minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For The Recipe
- One full cup of chopped spinach
- One-teaspoon green chilly and ginger paste
- Two cups of wheat flour
- One full cup of all-purpose flour
- Salt for taste
- One-teaspoon ghee
- Vegetable oil
- Warm water
How To Make The Recipe
- Combine salt and separated flour in a plane shallow dish
- Meanwhile crush Palak along with water to prepare a thick paste.
- Add ghee, paste of green chilly and garlic with crushed Palak in a tray; squeeze well when mixed with flour and mix salt to create a tough bread.
- Keep entire mixture under a semi dry cloth for around 10 minutes
- Prepare little balls from dough
- Fry Poori for long in hot oil until it becomes golden brown
- Turn Over Poori when it gets brown and fry it from other side as well
- Now, you can serve Green Poori with Chutney or Achar
