Ujjayanta Palace
Ujjayanta Palace is situated in Agartala- capital of Tripura, India, it is earlier a royal palace. Till 2011, Ujjayanta Palace was a convention centre for assembly of Tripura Legislative and now it is a museum.

Ujjayanta Palace is situated in the line of a small lake covered with the lavish garden which was formerly created by Mughals in city of Agartala. Ujjayanta Palace is spread around twenty eight hectares of grassland.
Ujjayanta Palace is renowned for many Hindu religious temples situated within, devoted to lord Laksmi- Narayan, Kali & Jagannath and Uma Maheshwari. Ujjayanta Palace is one of the biggest museums in the northern eastern side of India surrounded in the area of around eight hundred acres of stretch. Ujjayanta Palace is a control centre in the past until Tripura's succession in India in the year 1949.
The name for Ujjayanta Palace was baptised by Rabindranath Tagore. The abode was bought by the government of Tripura from the noble family in the year 1972-1973 for good twenty five lakh Rupees.
History
Ujjayanta Palace was constructed in the year 1899 till 1901 by the majesty of Tripura Raja Radha Kishore Manikya. Tripura entitles to be one of the ancient large states in India. Manikya Kingdom is one of the antique episodes of Tripura which started during the supremacy of Raja Radha Kishore Manikya.
Ujjayanta Palace was first constructed in the year 1862 and later in the year 1897 Ujjayanta Palace was distressed by the enormous earth quake. Later Ujjayanta Palace was reconstructed by 1899 by Martins and Buns from the British company.
After the union of Tripura in India in 1949, all the royal possessions were taken over, the main building structure was sold to the government of Tripura which made Ujjayanta Palace vacant for few years until it turned into the state judicial building.
Architecture
The complex Ujjayanta Palace surrounds the area of one kilometre2. The main building of Ujjayanta Palace surrounds around eight hundred acres which consists of the main community hall, Throne chamber, Library, Darbar area and the reception area.
Ujjayanta Palace was designed and planned by Sir Alexander Martin of M/s Martin and company. The ceiling of Ujjayanta Palace was created by the Chinese artist. The two storeys Ujjayanta Palace has fusion architecture.
Ujjayanta Palace is very beautiful which has 3 larges cupolas which rest on the top of four storeys tower. The main attraction of Ujjayanta Palace is the gushing musical fountain constructed in centre of main entrance, at night, it looks beautiful in the different lights. The garden of Ujjayanta Palace is also laid with different other fountain which adds up to the beauty of the royal palace.
There are 2 synthetic made pools in Ujjayanta Palace on both the side of the Mughal garden which is surrounded by the greenery and spring.
Best Time to Visit
Agartala has partial humid and monsoon weather, a great volume of monsoon showers in Agartala in most part of the year. Summers in Agartala starts from April till October with the regular temperature of 28 degree with intermittent rainfall. Winters in Agartala lasts from November to March.
The best time to visit in Agartala is September to February.

By Road
Agartala is also very well connected thru National Highway. From Kolkata Agartala is situated around 1680 km.
