Bangalore Palace
Located in southern city of Bangalore, prominent Bangalore Palace firmly express and redefine the glorious history of southern part of India today. The founder, Rev. Garrett was also the founding Principal of Bangalore Central High School which has become a Central College in the modern times. It took many decades to complete the construction work which started in the year 1862. Final structure of this palace was completed in 1944. The then Maharaja of Mysore had bought unfinished palace in 1884 to resume the construction work further.
History
As it is already discussed above there is long history of Bangalore Palace with the idea for construction from the Rev Garrett to the Maharaja of Mysore taking hold of it and then being looked after by its subsequent owners until Indian government took steps to turn it into national property. This palace saw further development with the renovation done thereafter. The sooner the latest Mysore royal family scion Srikanta Datta Narsimharaja Wadiyar took hold of it this palace was therefore given a completely new look with modernization. Ironically the palace is often mistaken for being the replica of the Great Britain's Windsor Castle in England but the case is not so. It has distinct approach with its own unique identity.
