Anand Bagh Palace
Lakshmivilas Palace is also popular by the name of Anand Bagh Palace and it is located at Darbhanga town which is present in Bihar state, India.
History
This palace had been constructed during the Lakshmeshwar Maharaja Singh reign-1880s. However, this Anand Bagh Palace got severely damaged during the 1934 earthquake and then it was rebuilt. This Palace has been donated to the Bihar Government by the Maharaja Singh Kameshwar and this was done for the promotion of constructing a new university as well as Sanskrit Language. At present, this Anand Bagh palace is Sanskrit University Maharaja Singh Kameshwar head office. This palace has been very well known due to its awesome gardens that are surrounding and they have now disappeared as government apathy for maintaining them.
This is one of the most beautiful palaces as mentioned by the Roper Lethbridge and it comprises of immense stables, zoological and botanical gardens and this also comprise of hundreds of beautiful surroundings. This is also well known in England because of its sketches appeared in London illustrated paper. This Garden palace comprises of many rare plants species like Branched palm and has more than eight branches, Sandalwood, Rudraksha, Mahogany etc and there are many orchids species that have been planted over this palace. This garden had been laid out as on Palace grounds through Charles Maries and this had been recommended through Joseph Hooker and also to the Lakshmeshwar Singh Maharaja for post of garden superintendent.
