Purani Haveli

One of the most ancient places of Hyderabad is Purani Haveli and this place is also regarded as official residential place of Nizam. This is also popular by the name of Haveli Khadeem and this refers to old mansion.

History

It has been constructed for Asaf Jah third and Sikander Jah during the time of 1803 to 1829. This was done by his father Bahadur Ali Khan and Asaf Jah third. The second Mir Nizam have taken over the Momin dynasty during the year 1717. Its prime building is regarded as heritage symbols of eighteenth century and this is because of its European architecture. This is one of the prominent reasons that they are called by the name of Purani Haveli. This building complex also comprises of Mirror house that is Ayina Khaana as well as Glass Chinese House (Chini Khaana). At present, south zone Hyderabad deputy police commissioner along with the task force south zone DCP police offices are functioning here. This Haveli have been constructed in U shape and 2 oblong wings will be running in the parallel direction.

Architecture

This residential palace has been constructed in perpendicularly middle way. Its main building has a close resemblance to eighteenth century palaces of Europe. One of its unique features is that this is one of the longest world wardrobes and it has been constructed in 2 different levels. This also comprises of wooden lift that is hand cranked. This palace is also the house of Nizam museum and it is dedicated to the Nizam of Hyderabad state. Moreover, this palace is also being functioned as a school as well as Industrial training institutes.
